What is the Coaching for Christ Internship?
The Coaching for Christ Internship is a one-year programme designed to help Christians grow in their faith, develop leadership skills, and gain practical experience using football to share the gospel.
Interns become part of the Coaching for Christ team and are involved in schools coaching, the CFC Youth Academy, Summer Camps, and International trips (Project 206) throughout the year.

Our Address: First Floor Fairhill House, 122 Broughshane Street, Ballymena

How long does the internship last?
1 year.
Our 2026 Internship will begin in September and end in August 2027
Is the internship full-time?
No.
The internship is a part-time commitment of approximately 3½ days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), including a half-day on Saturdays during the football season.
This allows interns the opportunity to work on other days of the week to help support themselves financially. The internship will include two late nights during the week, finishing on the pitch at 9pm
Is the internship paid?
No.
The internship is a voluntary programme and interns are not employed by Coaching for Christ.
Because of this, interns are encouraged to seek part-time employment while undertaking their internship, alongside seeking support from their home church.
Are there any costs involved?
Yes.
Interns are responsible for several costs during the year, including:
- Coaching for Christ Adidas coaching kit (variable cost)
- IFA National Coaching Certificate (£220)
- International mission trip costs (typically £850–£1,000, often raised by a personal fundraising event)
A full breakdown of expected costs will be provided before the internship begins.

These 1-2 week trips often take place in the later part of your internship (Between June & August)
Can I continue with Coaching for Christ after my internship?
