Coaching for Christ USA

The CFC USA Youth Academy will be a project in which we will have our own teams. The teams would range from U5 to U18. The Academy would potentially start as 1 team and build from this, then, as we get established, we will offer opportunities for coaches to become part of the team. I also see myself running small camps/clinics to make connections in the community and start to build a foundation to move forward.

The school’s programme is a great way to reach a mass of children and share the Gospel with them. My hope is to be able to facilitate schools and colleges with football programmes during class time and after school extra-curricular times, catering for all age groups and abilities. The possibility of working with Schools and College Teams is something that I feel could be of great benefit.

At Coaching for Christ, we want to reach every corner of the world and to do this we need coaches. One of my goals would be to facilitate Coach education days/weekends to help develop coaches on the pitch but also develop the individual off it. The courses would help the coaches learn the Values and Culture of Coaching for Christ so that they are equipped to volunteer, lead teams and prepare them to go on missions’ trips around the world with the organisation if they feel led to do so.

America is made up of 50 states, I believe that CFC can reach into each one and have a franchise set up in them all. The aim would be to run the biggest Youth Soccer Organisation in North America, not for the status but to reach as many kids with the Gospel as possible and to share Jesus with each player and their families. Having been part of CFC for 20 years, I share my dad’s vision of a CFC Stadium as a central hub—a home for CFC. In America, I envision a stadium with office space, a Youth Academy, a players’ lounge, a coffee area for parents, and a restaurant for hosting teams. It would also serve schools, colleges, and organisations, fostering a strong community. I believe in one main hub but remain open to more as opportunities arise.

The CFC National Cup will unite CFC teams from across the U.S. at the main Hub for a tournament, providing players with both competition and the opportunity to hear the Gospel. As CFC expands, this event will strengthen community and faith. With CFC’s Youth Academy in Northern Ireland, U.S. teams could tour and compete there, while Northern Irish teams would be hosted in the States, fostering relationships and opportunities for players in both countries.
